In September 2018, SAP announced a new cloud-specific product for management of application lifecycle: the SAP Cloud ALM. In this blog, find out more about the new product, which extends the product line of SAP ALM tools in addition to the SAP Solution Manager.
SAP Cloud ALM
Every SAP product has an application lifecycle, which has all phases completely supported by the SAP Solution Manager tools.
As part of the digital transformation, however, companies are increasingly turning away from On-Premise solutions and moving more towards the cloud. With the shift of solutions to the cloud, of course, there is the need to control the application lifecycle related to all solutions. Therefore, cloud-based solutions require a ready-to-use ALM.
To accomplish to this requirement, SAP announced the release of a new product: the SAP Cloud ALM. The SAP Cloud ALM manages the application lifecycle for SAP customers with a cloud-only, cloud-first or cloud-centric strategy.
SAP Cloud ALM starts with the implementation portal for SAP S/4HANA Cloud an should be available by End of 2018. It supports customers in introducing the S/4 HANA Cloud.
SAP plans to make the SAP Cloud ALM available in the coming years, not only for the SAP S/4 HANA Cloud but also for other SAP Cloud products. The following ALM scenarios are currently in scope:
- Integration Monitoring
- Deployment Management
- Test Management
- Process Monitoring
- User Monitoring
- Application Monitoring
